About Our Worship Services

Oxford UMC offers two dynamic worship services of varied styles each Sunday (each 5th Sunday, we have a combined worship service).  We have a worship experience just for you! The dress is casual. You will see men in suits or jeans. Children are welcomed in all of our worship services. Hearing assistance devices are available from the media team. Nursery care is available during the services. Our Nursery is located in the Education building adjacent to the Sanctuary. A Cry Room is available in the Sanctuary for nursing moms and fussy or sleeping babies.

Traditional Worship Service at 9:00 a.m.

Our traditional service has worship elements such as prayers, scripture, sermon and creeds. This service features hymns and praise anthems led by Lynne Puckett and the Chancel Choir. Lynne plays piano and organ. Our chime choir, The Timbres de Dios, plays special music once a month and for holy days. Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month.

Contemporary Worship "ELEVATE PRAISE" Service and Children's Church at 11:00 a.m.

Our "ELEVATE PRAISE" service music features today's popular Christian songs and yesterdays' hymns played with youthful dynamic praise led by the "ELEVATE PRAISE" Team. The "ELEVATE PRAISE" team has a team of vocalists and musicians (both volunteer and professional) which play drums, guitars, bass, piano, keyboards and percussion. Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month.

Children's group, led by Gina Ivens, takes place in the Education Building.

Each 5th Sunday, we have a COMBINED worship service and 'Noisy Offering' beginning at 10:00am.

Enjoy the best of both a traditional and a contemporary worship service. See old friends.  Meet new friends. And don't forget to bring your loose change for the Noisy Offering!  The children of Oxford UMC will come collect your coins in noisy tin buckets.  There are no other study groups that meet on 5th Sunday but expect some big event to take place after worship.  In the past, it's been potlucks and Church picnics. Check the website and Facebook to see what event might be planned for this 5th Sunday!
