Backpack Ministry
Every August, Oxford United Methodist Church sponsors backpacks filled with school supplies for the children of McDermott Elementary School. McDermott gives Oxford United Methodist Church a list of much needed school supplies that will be needed by their children, and our Backpack Ministry team takes it from there! The team seeks out donations from the community and the church, orders the supplies, then fills hundreds of backpacks. Oxford UMC is blessed each year when the backpacks are delivered to McDermott knowing we have filled a great need for these children.
Vacation Bible School
In the Summer months, Oxford hosts and annual Vacation Bible School. Children enjoy music, snacks, crafts, science, and active play as they learn about Christ!
Mother's Day Out
Oxford's Mother's Day Out (MDO) program is open to care for and educate young children from ages 30 months to 5 years. Our MDO program follows the NISD school calendar for open/close dates. For more information, call the church office at 210-696-0192 and ask to speak to our MDO Director, Maya Divers. Or you may email your questions to MDO at mdo@oxfordumc.org.
